Why Poken?
By Greg Hyer and Martin Brossman
Do you Poken? Chances are you have no idea what I’m talking about. Pay attention because this term will become the next hot thing like tweeting, friending and connecting.
Think about all the events and trade shows you have gone to over the years. Think about all the business cards and marketing material you have seen over the years. Chances are you have tossed the marketing material and scanned in the business cards then archived them. Sounds wasteful once you take the business value out of it. Poken solves this problem. How? By eliminating the need for business cards and mindless marketing print and putting it online.

So, how many social networks are you on? Poken will help you being all those networks together so when you make a new connection they can connect with you on those networks. It is a social media aggregator. In addition to that, when you update your info in your Poken account, all your contacts are updated with your new info.
Now, you might say that all you need is your phone and you can just bump your contact info to another phone. Well, you can when you have a data connection. You can when you find another compatible user. But if you change jobs or move, your contact information becomes stale and you have to work to send out emails to everyone that could have your info. Poken solves that problem.
A Poken is an electronic business card sharing device and much more. It is a fun way to share your social media and contact information with someone you meet who also has a Poken. It can include your photo, all your social media sites, your websites, phone, address…whatever you want to add. All links are active hyper links AND they don't have to type your contact info into their computer. You can have it on your keychain and when you find someone you meet that also has one and you would like to share information with them, you just touch your Pokens together. They glow and that means the transfer of the ID's occurred. Next time you are at your computer you plug your Poken into the USB slot and it transfers all your contacts to the web based Poken contact page. It is a new product by a new company that is already turning a profit. I believe this or something like this will be used more and more in the future over just a business card.
